Q. Do you have to turn around in the booth?

A. Movement is ideal for even coverage. We feel a 90 degree turn will assist with the best coverage.

Q. How safe is the Sun Spritz™?

A. Injury in the unit is very unlikely because there are no moving parts.

The movement is very simple, unlike other units on the market that required deep lunges and squats.

Q. How soon will I see color?

A. First you will see a cosmetic bronzer that is visible the moment solution is applied. Next the DHA solution will react with the amino acids in your skin to develop color 4-6 hours maximizing with 24 hours.

Q. What is DHA?

A. DHA is an acronym for Dihydroxyacetone. DHA is an ingredient derived from sugar cane which reacts with the amino acids in your skin to create a tan.

Q. Do I have to use barrier cream?

A. Other units use barrier cream to cover up fingernails, toenails, dry skin and all other absorbent areas due to excessive staining of the skin. This can take up to 5 minutes per session. It is important to note any excess cream would cause white patches. A damp cloth will remove the solution from the feet and palms of the hands.

Q. Can I shower after my Sun Spritz™ session?

A. To give the DHA time to fully set we recommend waiting a minimum of 6 hours. Showering sooner may diminish the intensity of the color. Please note that when you do shower, you will see the cosmetic bronzer wash off. The DHA that creates your color will remain.

Q. Will swimming affect my tan?

A. Swimming in chlorinated or salt water could diminish the length of your tan.

Q. Can I go to the gym after I¹ve visited the spray booth?

A. We generally recommend that customers wait 6 hours after sunless spray application before partaking in any strenuous activities that may cause sweating. This will prevent streaking that could result from excessive perspiration.

Q. How long should I wait before I put my clothes back on after my session?

A. There is a chance that some of the cosmetic bronzer in the solution may rub off on clothing or sheets. This is most likely to happen when the customer dresses immediately after session. To minimize the chance of the bronzer transferring to clothing, we recommend that your skin be dry before you dress. In addition, wearing loose fitting and darker clothing will minimize the transfer. We recommend that you avoid wearing leather, silk, spandex, Lycra or other fine fabrics immediately after application. The cosmetic bronzer is water-soluble. Therefore, in most cases, the transferred color will come out of clothing in the wash.

Q. How many sessions will I need to achieve the color I want?

A. You will have some color after one session. It may take several sessions to achieve your preferred color. Once your desired color has been achieved you will be able to maintain it by spraying every four to five days. Please note that we recommend that after every 5 weeks of spray tanning you let your skin rest for 10 days. This allows you to completely lose your tan. This will help to eliminate patchiness or uneven areas due to wear.

Q. Can I spray and use a tanning bed?

A. Yes! In fact, customers have found that if they have a base tan the Sun

Spritz™ helps them to get even darker. Please note that the Sun Spritz™ does not give any protection from UV Rays. Your Sun Spritz™ tan is purely cosmetic.

Q. I have never been able to tan before because of my fair skin. Will I still have results?

A. Absolutely. The spray tan concept was designed for individuals who can not or prefer not to tan conventionally. A second application may be required for desired results.

Q. What should I wear while being sprayed?

A. Most people wear nothing. Since the room is completely private, going for an all-over tan is completely up to you. However, if you do wear a bathing suit or under garments, please note that is may become stained. The instant bronzer is water-soluble and should wash out but the DHA we use may permanently stain what you wear during the spray session.

Q. Can I have an allergic reaction to the Sun Spritz™ tanning solution?

A. The components contained in the Sun Spritz™ solution have proven to be safe for use on the skin. However, if you have had previous allergic reactions to self tanning lotions or cosmetics, you may want to do a patch test first.

Q. What happens if I inhale the Sun Spritz™ mist?

A. While no one should purposely inhale or ingest the sunless mist, it is known that DHA (the active ingredient) is a non-hazardous compound and causes no adverse reaction in moderate quantities when applied topically or even ingested. DHA has been used as a diet supplement in sports and nutrition and is non-carcinogenic. Industry testing has further shown that DHA is less toxic than aspirin, caffeine and even common table salt. Based on industry research, the maximum amount of DHA that could accidentally be ingested or breathed is less than .05 milligrams (equivalent to less than 1 grain of table salt). Ingesting this minimal amount of DHA should pose no risk to the consumer. However, if you are concerned you may wear a breathing filter, nose plug and protective eyewear. Your salon will provide these items upon your request.

Q. Do I need to cover my hair during the spray session?

A. We recommend wearing a disposable shower cap (provided by salon) to prohibit the solution from getting on the hair. Solution will not harm or penetrate hair follicles.

Q. How can I enhance the results from the Sun Spritz™?

A. We recommend exfoliating your body with a water-based exfoliating product prior to your session. You need to have clean and dry skin the day of your visit. This includes removing makeup and deodorant. Please note that heavy lotions and moisturizers could cause streaking.

Q. How many days will a Sun Spritz™ tan last?

A. The tan created by DHA affects only the top layer of skin and will begin to fade after 4-5 days as the skin naturally begins to exfoliate. Some color should remain on the skin for up to 7 days. To extend tanning results, we recommend a moisturizing lotion.

Q. What are the primary components in the Sun Spritz™ solution?

A. The solution has three primary components: bronzer, DHA and aloe vera.

Q. Will I turn orange?

A. The quality of the DHA and bronzers designed for this unit adheres to very high standards. A very small percentage of people may have PH imbalances in their skin which may cause a slight orange tint, for those people we recommend a PH balancing spray to be applied before spraying.
